Blessings in a Backpack in Waterford has its origins at Central UMC. The program, co-chaired by Judge Rich Kuhn and Barb Laing, provides weekend food for elementary school students who qualify for the free and reduced-fee lunches during the week. At Riverside Elementary school, the program fed just over 100 children for the weekends during the past school year. Central is Hosting at Hope Shelter

Saturday, June 1st, Sunday, June 2nd, and Monday, June 3rd Join us as we host at HOPE Shelter in Pontiac. Volunteers are needed to prepare a hot meal at Central, transport it to HOPE Shelter, serve guests and clean up. Volunteers are also needed to help with guest intake, monitor the shower schedule and distribute hygiene items to guests. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Potluck to Benefit Liberia Missions

Join us for an old-fashioned potluck on February 17th to support our mission work in Liberia. Since Jessica began our relationship with the C.W. Duncan school with a donation of $105 in 2009 Central has given $31,305 dollars for scholarships for students. And since we created the Partnership in Ministry with St. Mark UMC in 2013 we have sent $24,760 for reconstruction of their church building. 2018 Waterford Area Crop Walk

This year’s CROP Walk will be on Sunday, October 7th at 2pm; registration begins at 1:30pm. You can participate by gathering sponsors and walking one of the designed routes for either five miles, three miles or one mile.
