Central is Hosting at Hope Shelter

Saturday, June 1st, Sunday, June 2nd, and Monday, June 3rd Join us as we host at HOPE Shelter in Pontiac. Volunteers are needed to prepare a hot meal at Central, transport it to HOPE Shelter, serve guests and clean up. Volunteers are also needed to help with guest intake, monitor the shower schedule and distribute hygiene items to guests. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Monetary donations are also being accepted to cover the cost of food and supplies…

Conference Update on Judicial Council Ruling

Last week, The Judicial Council of The United Methodist Church handed down its ruling on the constitutionality of the Traditional Plan that was passed in March during the special session of the General Conference. The Council ruled that some of the Traditional Plan petitions were constitutional, and some were not. Petitions found constitutional and taking effect January 1, 2020 included: An expansion of the definition of a “self-avowed practicing homosexual” to include persons in same-sex marriages or civil unions.
