Hope Shelter Seats & Feets
In the past, Central Church has prepared and served meals at Hope Shelter. Since the start of the COVID-19 surge, Oakland County has been providing dinners for the shelter, and Baldwin Center and a local soup kitchen are helping provide lunches. However, we’ve learned that there is always a need for underwear and socks for shelter guests. So, in lieu of serving a meal, we decided to conduct an underwear and sock drive. We are collecting men’s underwear (briefs or boxers) and undershirts—medium, large, x large, xx-large, women’s underwear—medium, large, x large and xx-large, and socks—crew or athletic. New items can be dropped off outside the church office from 8/31 to 9/17 during office hours.* The Hope Adult Shelter web site includes a Wish List if you are looking for other ways to help. Please call the church office or Debra Schmid 248-705-8546 with questions.
*Note that the office is close September 7th in observation of Labor Day.
