Band of Misfits Summer ’18 Tour

The Conversation band–Band of Misfits–will be “hitting the road” this summer and playing in local Waterford area venues as part of our mission to “Connect with God, Connect with Others and Change Our World with Christ’s Love.” Join us for one of these fun events. Central is Hosting at HOPE Shelter

Monday, April 23rd and Tuesday April 24th Join us as we host at HOPE Shelter in Pontiac. Volunteers are needed to prepare a hot meal at Central, transport it to HOPE Shelter, serve guests and clean up. Volunteers are also needed to help with guest intake, monitor the shower schedule and distribute hygiene items to guests. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Monetary donations are also being accepted to cover the cost of food and supplies for 80 meals.…

Refugee Book Drive a Tremendous Success

Nearly 600 Books Collected Agencies like Samaritas (Lutheran) and the Syrian American Rescue Network (SARN) are continuing to support southeast Michigan refugee families to help them become literate and successful citizens. During the recent book drive, Central donated two large bins of new and like-new children’s books. Together with other agencies, the book drive collected close to 600 books. The books will be divided between the two agencies and be distributed to refugee families. Thank you for your generous support!…
