Band of Misfits Summer ’18 Tour
The Conversation band–Band of Misfits–will be “hitting the road” this summer and playing in local Waterford area venues as part of our mission to “Connect with God, Connect with Others and Change Our World with Christ’s Love.” Join us for one of these fun events. The Conversation at the Swartz Residence
Join us Sunday, June 3rd at the Swartz home for Central’s weekly contemporary worship service, The Conversation. Service at 10am with fellowship at 9:30. 6th Annual Michigan UMC Baseball Night
Friday, July 27 – Tigers v Indians Calling all United Methodist baseball fans! Now is the time to reserve your tickets for this year’s Michigan UMC Tiger Baseball Night. Central is Hosting at HOPE Shelter
Monday, April 23rd and Tuesday April 24th Join us as we host at HOPE Shelter in Pontiac. Volunteers are needed to prepare a hot meal at Central, transport it to HOPE Shelter, serve guests and clean up. Volunteers are also needed to help with guest intake, monitor the shower schedule and distribute hygiene items to guests. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Monetary donations are also being accepted to cover the cost of food and supplies for 80 meals.…
UMCOR ERT Training Session – April 21st
The Montrose United Methodist Church will be hosting an Early Response Training session on Saturday April 21st from 9-5. This training is provided by the UM Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and UM Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) to facilitate our mission of “Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World.” Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) assist disaster survivors in the early days after an event occurs, while providing a caring Christian presence. Refugee Book Drive a Tremendous Success
Nearly 600 Books Collected Agencies like Samaritas (Lutheran) and the Syrian American Rescue Network (SARN) are continuing to support southeast Michigan refugee families to help them become literate and successful citizens. During the recent book drive, Central donated two large bins of new and like-new children’s books. Together with other agencies, the book drive collected close to 600 books. The books will be divided between the two agencies and be distributed to refugee families. Thank you for your generous support!…
