Refugee Book Drive a Tremendous Success
Nearly 600 Books Collected Agencies like Samaritas (Lutheran) and the Syrian American Rescue Network (SARN) are continuing to support southeast Michigan refugee families to help them become literate and successful citizens. During the recent book drive, Central donated two large bins of new and like-new children’s books. Together with other agencies, the book drive collected close to 600 books. UMCOR Early Response Team (ERT) Training
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is in the process of building up its Early Preparedness/Disaster Response ministry. Central UMC will be participating in this important ministry by hosting training/certification sessions. Our first session was held on Saturday, January 20th 2018 was attended by ten individuals.
