Technology and Media Specialist

Part-time hourly, 10-15 hours/week

Direct Report: Trustees / Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) / Senior Pastor

Role: Oversee AV and streaming technology and volunteer personnel for weekly Sunday worship and special events. Provide technical assistance and support to staff on the application of technologies and resolution of technical issues.


Worship Technology and Production:

  • Proficiency in A/V operations for Sunday Services and special events. This includes sound, cameras, visual slides, lighting, live stream moderation
  • Recruit, train, and schedule tech volunteers for Sunday services.
  • Maintain church audio/visual and streaming technical equipment and software as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend worship technology improvements (hardware and software).
  • Create and maintain required documentation.

Information Technology:

  • Set up and install personal workstations and software, mobile devices, and network equipment.
  • Maintain software and hardware throughout the church (including WiFi network).
  • Provide technical assistance and support to end-users on the application of technologies and the resolution of technical issues.
  • Perform moves, additions, and changes to network user accounts and software subscriptions.
  • Provide onsite, in-person support for office and meeting space technologies.


  • Commitment to Christian living.
  • Associate’s Degree, Certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Understand audio/video equipment (e.g. Berringer 32X soundboard, Black Magic media system, Byron DMX lighting board).
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, to effectively and tactfully communicate to staff and volunteers with a diversified computer and AV knowledge base.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility and minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work with and collaborate with others.
  • High level of skill with analytical and evaluative techniques.
  • Capacity to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously or in rapid succession.
  • Possess strong knowledge of hardware and software (Windows, MS Office, audio/video editing software, streaming platforms and services, social media platforms and services).
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently.
  • Willingness to submit to background check and completion of all required forms for child/youth protection policy. A mandatory background check will be performed every 2 years.
