Media & Technology Specialist

Part-time hourly, 10-15 hours/week
Direct Report: Trustees / SPRC / Senior Pastor

Role: Oversee audio, visual (AV), and streaming technology and personnel for weekly Sunday worship and special events. Provide technical support to staff, and address hardware and software issues.

Responsibilities:

Live Audio/Video Production:

  • Proficiency in A/V operations for Sunday Services and special events. This includes Sound, Cameras, visual slides, lighting, Livestream moderation
  • Recruit, train, and schedule AV/tech volunteers for Sunday services.
  • Maintain church audio/visual and streaming technical equipment and software as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend worship technology improvements (hardware and software).
  • Create and maintain required documentation.

Information Technology:

  • Set up and install personal workstations and software, mobile devices, and network equipment.
  • Maintain software and hardware throughout the church (including WiFi network).
  • Provide technical assistance and support to end-users on the application of technologies and the resolution of technical issues.
  • Perform moves, additions, and changes to network user accounts and software subscriptions.
  • Provide onsite, in-person support for office and meeting space technologies.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree, Certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Understand audio/video equipment (e.g. Beringer 32X soundboard, Black Magic media system, Byron DMX lighting board).
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, to effectively and tactfully communicate to staff and volunteers with a diversified computer and AV knowledge base.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility and minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work with and collaborate with others.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Capacity to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously or in rapid succession.
  • Possess strong knowledge of hardware and software (Windows, MS Office, audio/video editing software, streaming platforms and services, social media platforms and services).
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently.
  • Willingness to submit to background check and completion of all required forms for child/youth protection policy. A mandatory background check will be performed every 2 years.
