Stewardship 2023

Stewardship 2023

I love stained glass windows and I have loved the beautiful windows in our church sanctuary since becoming your pastor nine years ago. Our windows teach about the life of Jesus and the many facets of his earthly ministry. Christians have long had a positive relationship with light, and as light illuminates our beautiful windows, we celebrate Jesus Christ as the light of the world. We are inspired to be more like Jesus, sharing love and compassion, seeking justice, and demonstrating mercy and forgiveness. We are also inspired to be generous.

October 23 will be our Generosity Celebration Sunday when you will be invited to share your generosity in supporting our ministry at Waterford Central United Methodist Church in 2023! Our members and friends will be invited to bring their Generosity Cards toward the front of our sanctuary and place them in a basket, where together we will ask a blessing on those estimates of generosity and begin to plan our ministry for the new year.

Beginning Sunday, October 9th, we will explore what it means to reflect God’s generosity and move forward in our mission and ministry as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic. Our message titles and scriptures are:

  • October 9, 2022 – God’s Generosity and Ours: Going for the Win! based on Ephesians 2:11-22 and Mark 6:30-34, 53-56
  • October 16, 2022 – God’s Generosity and Ours: The Joshua Imperative based on Joshua 24:3a, 14-25 and Psalm 78:1-7
  • October 23, 2022 – God’s Generosity and Ours: Give It to Jesus based on John 6:1-15 and Ephesians 4:1-6, 11-16

God calls us to be a blessing to others as we have been blessed. That includes our time, abilities, influence, relationships, property, and finances. Please prayerfully consider your support of Central Church in 2023 by making a financial commitment by downloading the pledge card or by filling out the online pledge card at https://bit.ly/2023-pledge.

May we together let our light shine as we demonstrate God’s presence in the world, both locally and around the world!

Because of Christ,

Pastor Jack L. Mannschreck
