We Gather… Message Series

This is the beginning of the five messages leading to our Consecration Sunday based on the theme that God Gathers us together for God’s purposes. While we will utilize the Hymn, Gather Us In (No. 2236 – TFWS) to provide insights into each of the reasons to gather, we will also utilize the Baptismal Vows to participate in the ministries of the church, and support the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.

On this World Communion Sunday, we will explore our common needs as human beings. When Jesus said that he was the bread of life, the bread to which he was referring wasn’t anything special — not at all like the variety of designer breads we love to enjoy these days. But the bread he was talking about was different in one important way — to eat this bread was to partake in eternal life. What are our common needs as humanity, each of us created in the image of God? We will explore that question as we gather to recognize our common needs.
