In this new NFL Season, the Chain gain is being replaced with a new SONY Camera Technology. The Chain Gang, created in 1907 will still be on the sidelines but as a secondary means of determining with certainty if the ball has advanced to a first down. Sometimes the “old school” way is the best way to measure, whether it’s on the football field or in the game of life. Finding himself in an argument with some religious referees in his own day, Jesus is asked about the criteria for measuring the progress of a person’s life. For his answer, he reaches back to an ancient rule book. In this discussion of celebrating life, some of the oldest and most time-tested measurements of a life worth celebrating are still needed! We’ll have some fun with this message in the midst of football season. Based on Mark 12:28-34.
