The promise to Abraham and Sarah that they would be the parents of a great nation seemed unlikely the first time they heard that prophecy and completely laughable by the last time it was foretold to them. The roller coaster ride that was the prophecy that these two very old people would become the parents of nations was a far-fetched impossibility. But God makes good on God’s promises, and we are called to trust in those promises even though they are completely laughable. Genesis 18:1-15; 21:1-7.
