Send Me, O God!

Send Me, O God!

After we have asked our God to search our very being, opening ourselves to be examined by our Creator, and after we have been broken for God’s greatest purposes; only then we are ready to pray a different prayer: “Send Me!” From a Biblical perspective, we can discover several types of responses to God’s call upon our lives. We might answer like Jonah who said, “Here I am, I’m not going!” We might answer as Moses did, “Here I am, send someone else.” Isaiah answered, “Here I am, send me!” but only after recognizing that he is not qualified, or necessarily equipped to answer God’s call upon his life. Who is?! As Saint Paul wrote, we all have fallen short of the glory of God and are in need of God’s forgiveness. But when we are forgiven, we are freed to joyfully serve our God! What does your answering God, “Here I am, send me!” mean to you?
