Jesus offered seven last words from the cross. The one we will focus on during our Good Friday Worship is “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” This seems like an unlikely prayer when a person is writhing in pain, but it is fully consistent with Jesus’ life and teachings. A life and teaching he lived until the very end. The other point of prayer is that those who crucified Jesus did not know what they were doing; during this message, we will explore what forgiveness really means, celebrate the joy of forgiveness, and discern what step should follow forgiveness.
