Neighborly Ways – A Plan

Neighborly Ways – A Plan

Luke shares two stories that echo the words of the old camp song, Deep and Wide. These stories together remind us that the scope of our ministry should be both deep and wide. When Jesus calls Matthew to follow him and they end up at Matthew’s home for a party with some nefarious friends, we are reminded of the width of God’s care and concern. The familiar story of Jesus in the home of Martha and Mary (and their brother Lazarus) reminds us of the necessity of depth in our interaction with God and each other. This message is based on a plan to be more neighborly in the book The Art of Neighboring. Based on Luke 5:27-32 and 10:38-4.
