Of all human relationships, marriage is the most intimate. Hosea’s prophecy is all about the marriage relationship and how God’s love and grace for us as human beings is greater than our infidelity. Hosea’s very life is defined by his tumultuous relationship with his wife Gomer. There are many references to Jesus being the bridegroom and the church (God’s people) being the bride. The intimacy of our relationship with God defines the abiding love and forgiveness of God; all we have to do is accept that love and honor the intimacy of that relationship. Based on Hosea 2:14-20.
