Gentleness

Gentleness

Graduation Sunday

Gentleness is the absence of aggression or physical, psychological, or emotional abuse. Gentleness is the absence of self-promotion. Gentleness is goodness and kindness with gloves on. Gentleness is a soft word and an understanding heart. Gentleness understands the concept of age-appropriateness, allowing people to mature and make choices on their own. Gentleness is the absence of judgmental negativism and private slandering and gossiping. Paul emphasizes this only a few verses later when he writes, “My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness” (6:1, emphasis added). Based on Galatians 5:1, 13-24 and Matthew 11:25-30.
