Our United States flag has had fifty stars for 62 years now – actually on July 4th. The number 50 seems complete – nice and tidy. But what we should realize is that we don’t have a complete nation but rather we are a work in progress seeking freedom in our faith and in cooperation with the nation of which we are citizens. In this age of misguided nationalism and division within our nation, we must realize that as Christians we have dual citizenship in our nation and the Kingdom of God. It is our prayer that both entities can benefit from each other; our nation as well as God’s Kingdom.
