Good Samaritan Fund

Good Samaritan Fund

Waterford Central’s Good Samaritan fund provides financial assistance to those in the Waterford community and surrounding areas. The program is designed to help with short-term cash flow issues and is not a long-term solution to a debt crisis or eviction.

To learn more about Waterford Central’s Good Samaritan Fund or to request assistance, please download and read the Good Samaritan Program Overview. Please note:

  • Assistance is provided for rent or utilities only. We do not help with evictions or hotel/motel rooms. This is NOT an emergency program.
  • Once your paperwork is turned in we will contact you within 5 business days (M-Th) to let you know if we can provide assistance.
  • We will require promissory note(s) that cover the remaining balance of your outstanding debt before a check will be cut.
  • Checks are mailed directly to the landlord or utility company. A check cannot be picked up. Checks are cut once a week; they are NOT cut on an emergency basis. The check will NOT be made out to you.

If you have further questions or would like an application, contact the church office M-Th between 9am and 4pm (closed between 12:30 and 1pm) at (248) 681-0040.

Central’s Good Samaritan program is funded through the generosity of the members and friends of Central United Methodist Church. This mission is open to everyone to donate.
