Connecting with Others
Connecting with Others is one way that we grow and deepen our faith. Below are suggestions for how to grow at each stage in faith growth.
Planting
- Hear the stories of people from a variety of backgrounds
- Attend Trunk or Treat; VBS; special events around Easter and Christmas; summer events
- Attend a Faith Growth Pathway Information Meeting to learn more
- Participate in a Membership Class
- Attend Central Cinema
- Learn more about The United Methodist Church
Nurturing
- All of the above plus…
- Be intentional about welcoming others
- Serve at a special or seasonal event
- Serve at a community bridge event (like the Ice Cream Social at Riverside)
- Participate in a Central Connect Group
- Serve with children and youth ministries
- Practice hospitality as a greeter, usher, welcome center host, or at The Conversation
Shaping
- All of the above plus…
- Listen to and care for the spiritual needs of others
- Write down and share your faith story
- Be a leader for a special or seasonal event
- Participate in leadership workshops and events
- Practice hospitality in word and action in all areas of life
- Pray about how you might be used by God in leadership roles in the church and in the community
Sharing
- All of the above plus…
- Invite someone to worship or a church event
- Bring a neighbor or friend to Vacation Bible School
- Be a leader in a Central Connect Group
- Serve on a committee
- Equip, train, empower, and encourage leaders in training
- Continue to share your faith story in word and action
- Continue to lead well in the areas in which you are called and gifted
