Free Movie Night
Central Cinema is a monthly free movie night on the first Saturday of the month (unless otherwise indicated). Join us in the church Parlor as we socialize and watch a film together. The film will be followed by a brief discussion of its themes.
Bring a friend and a snack to share. This event is free and open to the community. Most films are family-friendly (please see ratings).
September 6th, 2025 – Arthur the King
- Our first film of the season is a heart-warming story of vulnerability and friendship. Based on the true story of an adventure racer who adopts a stray dog named Arthur to join him in an epic endurance race. Stars Mark Wahlberg. Rated PG-13.

October 4th, 2025 – The Holdovers
- This dramady about a curmudgeonly history teacher who remains on campus during Christmas break to supervise held-over students features themes of transformation and loss. 2024 Oscar nominee for Best Picture. Rated R for language, some drug use, and brief sexual material.

November 1, 2025 – Cabrini
- From Angel Studios and based on a true story. After witnessing disease and poverty in the New York slums, Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini embarks on a daring journey to persuade the hostile mayor to provide housing and healthcare for hundreds of orphaned children. Features themes of poverty, kindness, and courage. Rated PG-13.

January 3, 2026 – Inside Out 2
- This teen comedy and sequel to Inside Out features Riley entering puberty and experiencing brand new, more complex emotions. As Riley tries to adapt to her teenage years, her old emotions try to adapt to the possibility of being replaced. Themes include anxiety and coming-of-age. Rated PG.

February 7, 2026 – The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
- Based on a true story. An African-American woman becomes an unwitting pioneer for medical breakthroughs when her cells are used to create the first immortal human cell line in the early 1950s. This film features themes of prayer, genetics, and research ethics. Rated TV-MA.

March 7, 2026 – Miss Potter
- The story of Beatrix Potter, the author of the beloved and best-selling children’s book, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit”, and her struggle for love, happiness, and success. Themes include friendship, love, and family. Rated PG.

April 11, 2026 (Second Saturday of the Month) – Stranger Than Fiction
- An endearing comedy about a shy, lonely IRS auditor, Harold Crick, who suddenly finds his mundane Chicago life the subject of narration only he can hear: narration that begins to affect his entire existence, from his work to his love life to his death. Starring Will Ferrell, Emma Thompson, and Dustin Hoffman. The themes of this film include love, creativity, and transformation. Rated PG-13.

May 2, 2026 – Ordinary Angels
- Inspired by the incredible true story of a hairdresser who single-handedly rallies an entire community to help a widowed father save the life of his critically ill young daughter. This film’s themes include kindness, love, and friendship. Starring Hillary Swank, Alan Ritchson, and Emily Mitchell. Rated PG.

June 6, 2026 – 500 Days of Summer
- A fresh and appealing romantic drama brimming with heart, creativity, and panache. After being dumped by the girl he believes to be his soulmate, hopeless romantic Tom Hansen reflects on their relationship to try and figure out where things went wrong and how he can win her back. Themes include Love, expectations, and destiny. Rated PG-13.
