While we should remember that John was one of the Sons of Thunder, however, he will forever be remembered as the disciple whom Jesus loved. Apparently, John’s relationship with Jesus transformed him into a man of gentleness; a man so gentle and loving that Jesus entrusted his mother to him as he hung on the cross. Traditionally John was believed to be the author of many books in the Old Testament, but that has come under scrutiny in the last three decades. Having said that, clearly, John was a well-respected disciple of Jesus and left behind a great legacy of peace and gentleness. Based on John 19:16b-27.
