All friendly pets (and their people) are invited to our second annual Blessing of the Pets. There will be snacks for humans, and we will be making no-bake dog treats. There will be presentations on pet care and training and an opportunity to meet your church family’s extended pet families.

This event is for all friendly pets, not just dogs. So bring your cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, snakes, spiders (Jack says you have to hold the spider) or whoever is your favorite furry or scaly friend. And invite your friends, neighbors, and other pet people.

About The Blessing of the Pets

Blessing of the Pets events are often held on or around October 4th, which is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the day the Church honors a great friar from Assisi, Italy. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of the environment and animals because he loved all creatures. Today, pet owners often pray to this Catholic saint to bless their pets, and countless pet cemeteries contain a statue, mural, or some other image of St. Francis on their grounds.
