Connecting with Others

Connecting with Others is one way that we grow and deepen our faith. Below are suggestions for how to grow at each stage in faith growth.

Planting

  • Hear the stories of people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Attend Trunk or Treat; VBS; special events around Easter and Christmas; summer events
  • Attend a Faith Growth Pathway Information Meeting to learn more
  • Participate in a Membership Class
  • Attend Central Cinema
  • Learn more about The United Methodist Church

Nurturing

  • All of the above plus…
  • Be intentional about welcoming others
  • Serve at a special or seasonal event
  • Serve at a community bridge event (like the Ice Cream Social at Riverside)
  • Participate in a Central Connect Group
  • Serve with children and youth ministries
  • Practice hospitality as a greeter, usher, welcome center host, or at The Conversation

Shaping

  • All of the above plus…
  • Listen to and care for the spiritual needs of others
  • Write down and share your faith story
  • Be a leader for a special or seasonal event
  • Participate in leadership workshops and events
  • Practice hospitality in word and action in all areas of life
  • Pray about how you might be used by God in leadership roles in the church and in the community

Sharing

  • All of the above plus…
  • Invite someone to worship or a church event
  • Bring a neighbor or friend to Vacation Bible School
  • Be a leader in a Central Connect Group
  • Serve on a committee
  • Equip, train, empower, and encourage leaders in training
  • Continue to share your faith story in word and action
  • Continue to lead well in the areas in which you are called and gifted
